Dear Parishioners and Visitors,
A warm greeting and welcome to St. John the Evangelist! We are a vibrant faith community with many active and dedicated members. This website lists the various ministries and organizations of the parish which focus on service and spiritual growth. Hopefully, after prayerful review you will find a specific area of parish life that interests you.
If you have children, I would encourage you to enroll them in our school. For those children who do not attend St. John School, we have an excellent Religious Education Program with a devoted group of catechists who serve our parish. We take seriously the instructions of Our Lord to be one with Him and we offer education that enhances knowledge and understanding of the Gospel message.
There are four regular Sunday Masses each weekend: Saturday at 5:00PM, Sunday morning at 7:30AM, 9:30AM, and 12:00 Noon. In addition we offer Spanish Mass each Sunday at 2:00PM. At Valdosta State University we have the Newman Center where Mass is celebrated Sunday evening at 6:00PM during the academic year. Our Hispanic Mission Parish in Lake Park is called San José. Mass is celebrated there on Saturdays at 7:00PM.
Most Sunday mornings we offer coffee and donuts in the Parish Center following the 9:30AM Mass. This gives parishioners the opportunity to get to know each other and socialize so that we may become a more Spirit-filled and intimate community. I sincerely hope that you feel welcome at St. John the Evangelist Church and that you find a place for yourself in our faith community.
May God bless you,
Fr. Brian LaBurt
